Fluke 1535 Insulation Tester

The Fluke 1535 is a handheld instrument for measuring insulation resistance. It is used to determine if wiring, an installation, or an electrical system is still insulating as it should. This way, incipient faults can be detected before they develop into operational downtime or damage to equipment.

The tester can operate with multiple voltages, allowing the user to choose the level appropriate for the task. This is practical when the same instrument needs to be used for different types of tests, from lower levels to higher test voltages. It can measure insulation resistance up to 500 GΩ, making it suitable for tasks requiring very high resistance measurements.

The instrument is suitable for environments where safe handling of high test voltages is required. It has a short-circuit current of more than 2 mA and is classified as CAT IV 600 V. It runs on eight AA alkaline batteries, making it easy to take out for service and troubleshooting.

It is a relevant choice when insulation measurements need to be performed with a simple, portable instrument, and when a solution is desired that covers both common service tasks and more demanding tests.
