GW INSTEK GCT-9040

The GW INSTEK GCT-9040 is an AC ground bond tester for checking earth connections in safety tests. It is used to measure whether a protective earth or ground connection has sufficiently low resistance to safely conduct a high current. The test current can reach 40 A, and resistance is measured in the range of 1 mΩ to 650 mΩ.

This makes it relevant in environments where equipment must be properly grounded and where clear and repeatable connection verification is required. The instrument can be used as a standalone unit, but it can also be connected to the GPT-9000 series safety testers, such as the GPT-9800 and GPT-9900. This allows for combined or simultaneous tests and integrated control of functions.

For the user, this means a more flexible test station setup. The front panel features a 240x64 dot-matrix LCD, and the unit can store up to 100 manual test settings, allowing fixed test setups to be recalled. For integration into a test environment, it includes a USB device port, signal I/O, and GPIB capability.
