Fluke SB140
The Fluke SB140 is an industrial ultrasonic transmitter used in conjunction with Fluke acoustic imagers for leak detection and tightness testing. It emits an ultrasonic signal into a closed object, allowing the sound to be visualized from the outside using the camera. This makes it easier to identify weak points in joints, lids, windows, welds, and other areas where a seal is not performing as intended.
This solution is particularly relevant when traditional pressurization is not practical. In such cases, the transmitter can be placed inside the area to be tested, and leaks can be detected using an acoustic imager. This provides a more manageable workflow, as the leak can be visualized directly.
The SB140 operates at a frequency of 40 kHz ± 1.5 kHz and is powered by a single 9 V alkaline battery. The battery life is stated to be over 300 hours, allowing for use over extended periods without frequent replacements. The housing is made of extruded aluminum, and its size makes it easy to handle in practice. It is also rated IP40 and has an operating temperature range of -20 °C to +54 °C.
The package includes a 1-inch accessory probe, a flexible pouch, instructions, and a warranty card.
