SPS-ELECTR ST 6600B
The SPS-ELECTR ST 6600B is a benchtop model for surge testing and partial discharge measurement. In practice, it is used to test coils and other inductive components for faults such as short circuits and insulation problems before they manifest as actual operational failures.
The test range is from 200 VDC to 6,000 VDC, and the maximum impact energy is 0.25 J. Therefore, it is designed for DUTs with an inductance of more than approximately 10 µH. This makes it relevant for checking windings and other components where small faults can otherwise be difficult to detect with conventional measurements.
Operation is via a 7" TFT touchscreen, making setup and reading simple in everyday use. The instrument has TCP-IP, USB, and RS-232, so it can be used in both manual testing and more automated test environments. There is internal storage for 20 master curves, and more can be saved via USB.
During evaluation, the ST 6600B works with, among other things, area comparison, error area comparison, corona quantity comparison, and corona number. This means that the measurement not only provides a voltage but also an assessment of whether the test object behaves as expected. The result is displayed as GOOD/FAIL.
