Fluke 572-2 Infrared Thermometer

The Fluke 572-2 is a handheld infrared thermometer for quick, non-contact temperature measurement. It is used when you want to measure surface temperatures from a distance, for example, on hot objects, installations, or equipment where it is not practical to attach a probe directly.

It is particularly relevant when locating hot spots, monitoring temperatures over time, or performing control measurements during operation. The high measurement task is made easier by the instrument's dual-laser sighting, which makes it easier to accurately target the area being measured. With a distance-to-spot ratio of 60:1, you can measure small areas from an appropriate distance, which is a clear advantage when the object cannot be brought close to the instrument.

The Fluke 572-2 can also be used for contact measurements with standard mini-connector K-type thermocouples. This provides a practical option when you want to compare a non-contact measurement with a direct measurement for the same task. The included K-type bead probe, hard carrying case, and USB 2.0 cable make it easier to start using the instrument and transfer saved data.

The instrument displays MAX, MIN, DIF, and AVG, among other values, allowing you to quickly see the peak value, bottom value, difference, and average. This makes it easier to assess whether the temperature varies or if there is a pattern in the measurements. Up to 99 data sets can be stored, and measurements can be transferred to a computer via USB.

Emissivity can be adjusted, and there is a built-in emissivity table. This is important because different surfaces can behave differently during infrared measurement, thus affecting the result. When working with many different materials, this capability is often crucial for whether an IR measurement is practically usable.
