Tin bar SN96Ce – SnAg3,8 (325 × 28 × 15 mm)

SN96Ce from Balver Zinn is a lead-free replenishment alloy developed for the maintenance of SN96C (SAC380)-based solder baths in modern electronics production. The alloy is designed to ensure that the solder bath composition remains within recommended process limits throughout the production run, while maintaining solder quality and process stability.

This variant is supplied as a tin bar in dimensions 325 × 28 × 15 mm and is used as a replenishment alloy in wave and selective soldering processes where SAC380 alloys are used.

Developed for the maintenance of SAC380 solder baths

SN96Ce is a copper-reduced alloy developed specifically for refilling SN96C (SAC380) solder baths. During production, the solder bath continuously absorbs copper from PCBs, component leads, and other materials, which can change the alloy's composition over time.

By using SN96Ce as a replenishment alloy, the copper content can be kept within the desired process limits, contributing to a stable and controlled soldering process.

SAC380-based alloy with high reliability

SN96Ce is based on a silver-containing SAC380 alloy with a silver content of 3.8%. The alloy is particularly suitable for electronics production with high demands on mechanical strength, reliability, and long-term process control.

The silver-containing composition makes the product attractive for advanced electronics applications where quality and reproducibility are crucial.

Suitable for wave and selective soldering

SN96Ce is typically used for:

• Replenishment of SN96C (SAC380) solder baths
• Wave soldering
• Selective soldering
• Large-series electronics production
• Industrial electronics
• Automotive electronics
• Production with high demands on traceability and quality

The alloy performs effectively in both atmospheric air and nitrogen environments.

Stable process and consistent solder quality

When used correctly, SN96Ce contributes to:

• Stable alloy composition in the solder bath
• Controlled copper content
• Consistent soldering properties
• Reduced risk of process variations
• High reproducibility in production
• Long-term process control

This makes the product particularly relevant in production environments focused on quality assurance and operational reliability.
